Miyan (In Between)
Brooklyn, New York Group Exhibition 2026
“Miyan” میان
“Miyân” means in-between: a state of being suspended between reality and dream, between what roots me in the past and what unfolds before me now. It describes a person who carries two visions at once: the memory of where they come from and the shifting truth of where they stand.
The composition moves between dream and reality, where eyes appear as witnesses, fragments of what I have seen, felt, and carried across places. The figure exists within this shifting landscape, holding both memory and distance, where identity is not fixed but continuously unfolding.
Through layered forms and fluid lines, the work becomes a space where nostalgia, culture, and inner vision intertwine. It is a state known to those who move through more than one world, a life shaped in the quiet tension between what was once home and what is becoming real now, where the self learns to inhabit the unfinished space between.
