Portrait of Mahsa Esfandiar

About

Born in 1994 in Damavand, Tehran, Iran, Mahsa Esfandiar discovered her artistic voice in childhood, gravitating toward imaginative portraiture and an expressionist style shaped by her social surroundings. After graduating from an art and architecture school, she traveled extensively across Europe, Asia, and Iran, absorbing the textures and narratives of urban life.

In 2021, she moved to the United States to pursue architecture at UNC Charlotte, where her work began to explore the relationship between space, the human figure, and the city through both painting and photography.

Her exhibition Urban Mask in Tehran examined lived experience through sketches drawn directly onto human faces. She later presented a solo exhibition at the Academy of Arts in Tallinn, Estonia, featuring works inspired by cities around the world.
